Class Time: Every Tuesday 12pm - 2pm
STARTING 11TH AUGUST FOR 6 WEEKS
A progressive sewing programme for children aged 7 and up, running across the school term. Each week builds on the last, helping young sewists grow their skills and confidence step by step — from foundational techniques through to more advanced projects.
It's the perfect way to add something hands-on and creative to your homeschool week, with steady progress, plenty of support, and a real sense of achievement by the end of term.
Over the course of the term we will complete a number of different projects designed to develop sewing skills from week to week.
What you will learn during the term:
- How to set up and use a sewing machine
- How to use a pattern template
- Preparation, pinning, and cutting of fabric, including pairs
- Various construction methods using the sewing machine, including hemming, lining, sewing curves and corners, binding and elasticating.
- Different stitch techniques and why we use them
- Design skills by choosing fabric combination
What you will experience:
- A relaxed home from home environment in which to create and learn
- A friendly and patient teacher
- Plenty of focused and hands-on instruction with only 4 students per class.
All equipment provided and a variety of high-quality fabric to choose from. Students are welcome to bring their own fabric but they do not need to.
