About the workshop

Come along to The Sewing Lounge and create a fabric basket ideal for storing hair accessories, small toys, hobby supplies or just all those bits and bobs we have laying around! This is an ideal project for beginners and is suitable for adults or teens.

What you will learn:

-            How to set up and use a sewing machine

-            How to use a pattern template

-            Preparation, pinning, and cutting of fabric

-            Construction using the sewing machine

-            How to create box corners

-            Attaching a lining

-            Different stitch techniques and why we use them

-            Design skills by choosing fabric combination

What you will experience:

-            A relaxed home from home environment in which to create and learn

-            A friendly teacher

-            Plenty of focused and hands-on instruction with only 4 other participants per class

What you will leave with:

-            A usable fabric basket to keep or gift

-            New skills which open up plenty more possibilities

-            A sense of accomplishment and pride

-            A happy mind from a creative morning

All equipment provided and a variety of high-quality fabric and trims to choose from.

Please be aware that the class may be shorter or longer than the allocated time depending on students sewing speed and in either circumstances the price paid is fixed.

At least 2 participants are required for a workshop to run. If there is only 1 booking, that person will be offered a reschedule or the option to pay the extra for a 1-2-1 class.

A waiver and photo consent form will require a signature on arrival. Photo consent is optional however the waiver must be signed in order to participate with the class.

I understand that life gets busy and plans can change! Cancellations made 7 or more days in advance will receive a full refund or credit for another class. Cancellations made 3-6 days before will receive a 50% refund or credit. Cancellations made within 48 hours are non-refundable however your spot can be transferred to a friend or family. No-shows are not entitled to a refund. If for any reason Suzanne needs to cancel, you will be offered a full refund or the option to reschedule.
