Children's Workshop - Stuffed Animal Cuddly

About the workshop

Join me in The Sewing Lounge to create an adorable animal cuddly that can be treasured forever. A perfect first project for children interested in learning to sew. No sewing experience needed. Suitable for ages 8 upwards.

What your child will learn:

How to set up and use a sewing machine

-            How to use a pattern

-            Preparation, pinning, and cutting of fabric, including pairs

-            Hand-stitching

-            Construction using the sewing machine, including sewing curves

-            Pressing with an iron

-            Different stitch techniques and why we use them

-            Using stuffing to create a 3D shape

-            Design skills by choosing fabric combination and shape

What your child will experience:

-            A relaxed home from home environment in which to create and learn

-            A friendly and patient teacher

-            Plenty of focused and hands-on instruction with only 4 children per class

What your child will leave with:

-            A beautiful handmade animal cuddly

-            A new skill which opens up plenty more possibilities

-            A sense of accomplishment and pride

-            A happy mind from a creative morning

Suzanne has a valid working with children check and as a mother of 2 children who have supported the design of each class, is experienced with sewing with children and teaching at their level. Parents are welcome to stay for the duration of the class or drop and go.

All equipment provided and a variety of high-quality fabric and trims to choose from.

Please be aware that the class may be shorter or longer than the allocated time depending on students sewing speed and in either circumstances the price paid is fixed.

At least 2 participants are required for a workshop to run. If there is only 1 booking, that person will be offered a reschedule or the option to pay the extra for a 1-2-1 class.

A waiver and photo consent form will require a signature on arrival. Photo consent is optional however the waiver must be signed in order to participate with the class.

I understand that life gets busy and plans can change! Cancellations made 7 or more days in advance will receive a full refund or credit for another class. Cancellations made 3-6 days before will receive a 50% refund or credit. Cancellations made within 48 hours are non-refundable however your spot can be transferred to a friend or family. No-shows are not entitled to a refund. If for any reason Suzanne needs to cancel, you will be offered a full refund or the option to reschedule.
